VP tie off

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me with this, I need to know what cpt code to use. The surgeon did a craniotomy for evacuation of a chronic subdural hematoma. He then did a closure of a ventriculoperitoneal shunt vie tie off of the peritoneal catheter in the retroauricular space. I know the code for the craniotomy but would you code for the VP shunt tie off? If so, what code would you use? I was thinking 62230 since it was just tied off and not removed but I am unsure. Thanks!

The note above is not exactly clear, did the provider place the peritoneal catheter or simply revise it by tieing it off? If the catheter was already in place then yes I would consider CPT code 62230 - for Replacement or revision of cerebrospinal fluid shunt, obstructed valve, or distal catheter in a shunt system.

For intracranial neuroendoscopic ventricular catheter placement, use 62160.

For placement of only the valve and proximal catheter, use 62230 in conjunction with 62225.
