Elongated Toenails

What diagnosis code do you use for elongated toenails? When you research L60.3 comes up which is dystrophy nails? What is not dystrophic just long?

Thanks

re: Elongated Toenails

Non- dystrophic nails are generally considered bundled with other services such as the E/M Visit. If they are dystrophic, there are other codes that must be considered such as a systemic disease, an illness, or accident, this is generally the only reason cutting or trimming of non-dystrophic may be covered. I would suggest reviewing the policy or LCD pertaining to the payer being billed. Those may be billed with G0127 or 11719, then any nail disorders are coded under L60.-

I hope this helps.
