Billing patients/attorney with no insurance
Question, I realize CPT codes were created to bill insurances etc. My Question is, do I have to us e a CPT code when billing a patient directly or a patients attorney or can I just create an invoice describing what was done and the cost associated with the procedure. Again, this will not be billed to any insurance. Thank you
re: Billing patients/attorney with no insurance
It depends on the Attorney, some may request more detail, if it is not requested, just send an invoice or statement of their account, that has always worked for me.
Be sure to get a consent signed or release from the patient to send the information.
