Permanent Neonatal Diabetes Mellitus

Hello! I have a question regarding the correct ICD-9-CM code on a patient. A patient was born with PNDM, which is coded as 775.1 during the "newborn age". My question is, once they are older, and the condition has not resolved, wouldn't the correct category for coding be in the 250 range? Thank you so much for any input!
