Cam boots

The physicians in my office would like to bill for the application of a cam boot. I cannot find anything in the cpt book that would allow for billing of this service. Does anyone know anything different?

Some examples of covered DME items include: pneumatic cam walker (L4360), non-pneumatic cam walker (L4386), ankle stirrup splint (L4350), Richie Brace (L1960), night splints, AFOs (L1930), Arizona Brace (L2880), compression garment (L8110-8120-AW), and primary dressings used in the home (not in the office). Primary dressings go right on the wound as opposed to other materials, which may cover the primary dressing or hold it in place.
The physician has to be a "supplier" to bill these to Medicare DMERC carrier.

Since we are not the supplier, can we bill as fracture care?

CAM- rermovable cast boot. Comfort, non-therapeutic cast-braces are considered medically necessary DME after a fracture or surgery. Comfort, non-therapeutic cast-braces are considered experimental and investigational for other indications. These braces are often used after the patient has been in a walking cast. They are usually removable. Molded casts, which allow the user to remove the cast to bathe the affected extremity, can also be used when a fracture is slow to heal or non-healing. The use of these removable casts replaces monthly cast changes.
