Copay collection

You collect the copay. It is a requirement of their insurance that the patient pay a portion of services. If the 2ndary pays for it, they will send you a check and then you will send the patient a check. If you have a financial policy for your office that outlines that copays will be collected for all primary carriers, that should cover it. Plus, insurance carriers monitor whether you are collecting the copays and failure to collect can jeopardize your ability to be a provider.
