What is the CPT® code when doc did not put them in?

re: Suture removal

There is no specific code for suture removal. You would bill higher visit line - 99214 if doctor sses the patient to remove them. If removed by a nurse, then bill
99213. make sure your doctor documents properly - how many stitches were removed & minutes taken.

Isn't suture removal covered under the "global charge"??

??v58.32=suture removal and my understanding is that medicare will only pay a 99211 for this service??/if that is all they came in for..if not surgical sutures..ex.open wound from a fall.

re: Suture removal

fIf the sutures were placed by a provider in the same specialty, then the removal code would be 99024, if within the global period of the repair code. If the sutures were placed by another specialty, then you would bill an E&M code for the visit. If the nurse only removed the sutures, then you would bill 99211.
