We just hired a nurse practitioner for the first time ever, so I’m trying to find out what, when, and where to bill for the NP services for OH state. your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your time

Nurse practitioner in Ohio

You need to call the Ohio Board of Nursing or look on line for specifics. Typically, NP's can perform any E/M service, perform procedures, act as assistants at surgery, prescribe medications, order tests. There are a few things they can't do for Medicare patients: order HHA services.

As for the billing for them, that varies by insurance company. Some credential and enroll them, some don't. Medicare has very specific rules, which you can find if you search "incident to" or "shared services" in the search box.
