how to properly code for IUD's

Is a modifier required when billing 58300 and 58301 together?

Encounter for IUD removed and a new one inserted during the same visit - report both the IUD removal (58301) and insertion (58300) separately. Most IUD services will be linked to a diagnosis code from the V25 series, “encounter for contraceptive management.”
The only modifier would be -51 for multiple procedures

So are you saying that 51 should be used for could be used? Is modifier 51 required?

Depends on payor. Medicare does not require modifier 51.
