Return Visits for Vaccine Administration

As a pediatric practice we frequently have children being seen for Well Child Visits with vaccines that are administered age appropriate. There are a growing number of parents who want to limit the number of vaccines given at the visit, and then return in a week for more, and a week later for the remainder.

What is the best way to bill for these multiple visits?

Return visits for Vaccine administration

I am assuming the provider is not seeing the patient (and wouldn't need to if the schedule was set up at a well child visit.)

Bill only for the vaccine administration, and serum if you bought it. The CPT Assistant clarified in the April 2005 issue that you should not bill a nurse visit for any counseling, services etc. related to the vaccine administration.
