Diagnostic testing

If you have a physician that orders a diagnostic test on a patient and after the testing the patient is to see a different provider should the billing of the diagnostic testing be split?

If one provider orders a test and he interprets the test before the patient see's the new provider then you wouldn't split the testing with a 26/TC correct?

However if the ordering provider orders a test, however the test is not interpreted until the patient see's the rendering provider (which is not the same provider) then the test would be split by modifier 26-for the referring physician and modifier-TC for the provider who interprets the test correct?

re: Diagnostic testing

The TC modifier is to be used to bill for the owner of the equipment and the 26 is to be used for the provider who does the interpreting.
