Does anyone know if any commercial insurance accepts CPT® 99244? If so do you know which ones still do? I work for a surgeon and he understands that medicare no longer accepts this but believes that most commercial still do. I need help with this one! Thanks

Many still do accept consults. Check with payer.

The only one I know that does not accept it is other than Medicare is Cigna.

Thank you so much for your help. when I came into the medical group they wanted us to use new pt across the board. Just needed some clarification.

It varies from market to market, but many payers do accept the consult codes. It is a mistake to stop billing them. Develop a grid that shows which payers do and don't accept them.
