93295 and 93296 Pacemakers/ICD's

In the beginning of the year, we heard that we were not to bill 93295 and 93296 together. We also heard that Medicare was reviewing this in April. Has anyone heard anything on these two codes and whether they can be billed together?

93295 and 93296 bundling issue

There was an incorrect NCCI edit in place which bundled 93296 with 93295 and also with 93294. According to this article, the edit was to have been corrected on 4-1-09 and the deletion of the edit will be retroactive to 1-1-09. Providers will need to resubmit or appeal any claims that were denied in error because of this edit.
