split billing urodynamics

Often when a urodynamic/radiology procedure is performed, one MD is in the office supervising when the test is performed but a second MD (partner of #1) interprets the test results. I have just been advised to report the urodynamic procedure code with TC for #1 MD and the same CPT® code with modifier 26 appended for #2 MD's interpretation. It is my understanding that modifier TC is only appended to the facility charge when the MD does not own the equipment, with modifier 26 appended to the MD charge. I have always billed the procedure with the global CPT® code under the physician who actually interprets the procedure. Is there actually a way to split bill for this type of situation? Thank you for your insight.
