New Visit

Can we consider a patient is a new visit/encounter if patients switch from a pediatrics to a general practice or family doctor after turning 18 years-old? Please advice. Thank you.

New visit

My first question; as I work for a general surgeon's office......is a pedatric doctor considered the same specialty as a general practice doctor?

I know an established patient is one who has received services from the physician or another physician of the SAME SPECIALTY who belongs to the same group practice within the past three years.

Once you find out about the specialties being the same or different, your answer is then quite easy.

I hope this helps.

Then the rules to established patients does not apply as they are different specialties.
