NDC's

Are NDC's required for every payor? Is anyone getting rejections from any of their payors for this missing?

NDC or NCD?

I am drawing a blank? I know what NCD's are but not NDC's?

National Drug Codes that the FDA uses and at least Medicaid requires to have on the claim.

National Drug Codes

As far as I know, only Medicaid requires them. Have you called the payer doing the denials?

Ndc

We just had Medical Mutual of Ohio request further information as to the individual dosage/units for review by their pharmacy for trigger point injections before completing claim processing. Aetna recently advised in their bulletin that their pharmacists would be reviewing J code units for proper dosages also. We had to redo the fields in our practice management system for our claims processing service to allow the information to populate the drug field on the electronic claim correctly in the DRUG field. (We were also advised by our claims processing service that the NDC must be changed every time you order the same drug from another supplier -- it is supplier specific).
