Public Aid patient pay cash?

I do not accept Medicaid insurance in the office (doesn't cover 30% of the cost of care). A patient asked if he could see me and pay cash for the visits and not use his public aid. Is this legal?

Yes, it is legal as long as there is no submission with the insurance company. Think long term though, as far as potential testing/prescribing for which the patient might want to use the benefits in the near or more distant future.
