Co-pay and co-insurance

Can a patient have a co-pay to cover at the time of his visit and at the same time have a co-insurance responsibility?

It depends...if they had an office visit only, then no, I have never seen that, but if it was an office visit and another service, let's say an ultrasound then yes they could have both.
