THE DIFFERENCE WOULD BE THE AREA IT COVERS. 172.5 A LARGER AREA AND IT IS MALIGNANT melanoma OF SKIN (SKIN=KEY WORD)- VS- 171.4 IS LIMITED TO MALIGNANT neoplasm OF CONNECTIVE AND OTHER SOFT TISSUE (CONNECTIVE AND OTHER SOFT TISSUE=KEY WORDS), THIS CODE ONLY COVERS THE AXILLA, DIAPHRAGM AND GREAT VESSELS.
