Phone Call 99441-99443 ( by non physican ) ??

Please clarify if Physician's, MA, or NP can bill for phone calls made to the patient for the physician or does this have to be a call by provider only.


Can they be used to bill when a patient calls in for a prescription to pharmacy for the patient.

No, an MA may not use these codes, only a physician.

For a Non-Physician Practitioner, see codes 98966--98968. An MA may not bill those codes, either.

All of these codes have a status indicator of Non-covered: Medicare will not pay. I doubt most insurances will. They have very specific defiintions. See this article:
