Insurance Remittance Copies

I am wondering if there are laws stating how long you must store insurance remittance advices?

I not sure where i heard this from,but was told 3years..the last hospital i worked in we did not have enough room to store, so we would send out to CITYSIDE STORAGE..I always kept a year prior to current year. i want to say there is no time frame, because once the claim has been paid its done and even insurance archive their claims submission after 2yrs..as i was told by one insurance rep.

You might look at your contracts with each payer: they may have some requirements. Also, check your malpractice carrier.
