Wound Care Billing

We are in the process of opening a wound care out patient department. We have a funny situation here and not sure if how I will be billing is correct.

We know that OIG is looking for closely at Wound Care, so I want to ensure I am doing this right.

The hospital will be billing the technical piece in one system which is Meditech 6.0 on an electronic UB of course. I was going to billing physician piece under our physician practice for their professional piece which creates a 1500 system is Tangibles.

I felt that keeping the two separate would cause less confusion and kept us if possible from OIG radiar.

I was told today, that it would be best to bill everything out of one system and procduce a UB and 1500.?

I do not want to sound dump as I stated I have never done Wound Care billing.

This service is not being done in a Clinic but hospital out patient.

Does anyone have experience or can anyone give me some advice on this?
