"Free Visit" for an insured patient - is this legal or fair?
I have an MD with the biggest heart in the world... to the point of giving away care more than I've ever encountered. Curren Issue: can we have a n/c visit on the books just because she is going to give results for a newly added test to our compendium - and it will require more time for the visit and be a "learning opportunity" for the doc? She does not want to charge for the visit nor bill for it, also excusing the patient's copay.
I feel this is against our 3rd party contract, want to bill as a normal visit even if it's longer and more involved than usual. Do the contracts not state this is not allowed?
Thanks, ~Cathy
