40 minutes was spent with this patient, where 50% of this time was spent counseling

Pt is established- is this a 99215? if coding based on time? or is this really on 99213 if coding based on time?

If the total face-fact time with the patient is 40 minutes and of that 40 minutes, more than 50% was spent in counseling/coordination of care then code 99215 is accurate for an established patient. Document total time and counseling time and what you counseled on.
