99211 & pro-time 85610-QW

Our docs are wanting to start billing a 99211 when the patient comes in for their pro-time blood draw. Does Medicare allow the 99211 in this case if the nurse does vitals at the visit?

Check out this article as it mentions this scenario. I can tell you from experience it was not reimbursed in the practices where I worked.

The title of the article is

Understanding When to Use 99211
Emily Hill, PA-C
Fam Pract Manag. 2004 Jun;11(6):32-33.

It is on the AAFP website(www.aafp.org) you can search by the title.
