How can I find the correct sequence of codes with multiple choices ? this is for an exam.

Place your MCC codes behind the principle diagnosis
Add your CC codes below the MCC codes
If you have any E codes place them directly close to the 800 injury codes
Place your V codes behind the above.

Remember you codes are telling a story of what occured during the admission or service. You want the drama at the top with your principle diagnosis. Then you want the everyday chronic conditions that were treated during the stay below the above.

Your principle procedure should apply to the principle diagnosis. However more bad drama can occur during an admission with a procedure that will change your DRG into the 900 series.
