Dictation and assistant surgeons

I am looking for verification on the cms website stating what pacific documentation should be in an operative report that consists of an assistant physician being utilized. I am located in the state of Kansas and any help would be much appreciated.

I don't think you'll find anything on the CMS website. I'm not sure about your carrier/contractor.

The minimum of course is that the procedure allows an assistant, and that the assistant is named. Most consultants recommend that the surgeon dictate what the assistant did during the procedure.
