Surveillance Colonoscopy
Can a 33 modifier be billed with a surveillance colonoscopy before the ten year screening period? For example, pt has a personal history of colon polyps & is coming back for a follow up colonoscopy five years after original screening colon. Would we bill a 45378 with a 33 modifier & V12.72 as primary diagnosis. Please help! Thanking you in advance.

re: Surveillance Colonoscopy
Yes modifier 33 can be used for the CPT® 45378, if the ins is MCR you can use PT modifier instead of 33.
