OB services between different location, but same tax ID and specialty

We have a clinic in a smaller town that is doing prenatal visits and then after 33 weeks transfers the care to the larger clinic and that provider (family practice) within the same TIN provides the rest of the prenatal care, delivery and postpartum care. I am of the opinion that it should be billed globally and reimbursement split between the physicians providing the services since they are both the same specialty and within the same tax identification number. Please advise the best and correct way to bill these services. Next question, would it make any difference if the patient went back to the local physician for the postpartum care?

OB services

I'm with you: bill globally and distribute within your group.

If the patient goes outside of the tax ID, then you have to break them apart using the appropriate OB codes.
