99214 & 57454

Can an office visit be billed the same day as a colposcopy? Would I need a modifier? Thanks all!

If the documentation warrants an additional level of E&M you would use modifier 25, but if the patient was scheduled for the Colpo w/ECC then a E&M visit is not warranted and should not be applied. I would check the scheduling for that DOS to see how the patient was scheduled first.
