IV infusion
If a pt comes in for straight IV hydration (saline only) from dehydration I believe it should be 96360. However if they come in for IV from Gastroenteritis but with dehydration and they recieve medication thru the IV (Phenergan/Demerol) would it be 96365 instead ??Thanks

Hydration
Intravenous hydration literally means that the patient is being hydrated with a pre-packaged intravenous solution. Once something is added to the bag for prophylactic or therapeutic purposes, the infusion becomes therapeutic or prophylactic using the appropriate code, e.g. 96365.
