Spiro Pre and Post
So the Dr asks me today, what are the two codes to use for a Spiro when a pt has it done before and after a neb treatment. We know that 94010 is the CPT code for Spiro, but she thinks there should be a seperate code for post-treatment.
Here is her explanation:
Mr. A comes in as asthmatic, does a spiro to determine the intensity of the issue. sits with the Dr to evaluate his results, Gets a nebulizer treatment for 2 hours with supervision, takes another spiro to determine the results.
Dr. wants me to bill 2 spiros, nebulizer, and possibly an OV based on the eval. I'm seeing some unbundling issues here. What would you suggest to be billed for all of this, and for a second spiro, shouldn't I just add mod 76? Thank you for your help!
