Which PRovider to Use

We recently added NP in our office. When I bill, should I put the NP as the rendering provider or CAN I use the MD? The MD is in the office when patients are being seen by the NP. Or I can just use the MD's NPI eventhough the NP saw the patient? Need to know please! Thanks! If this is confusing, I apologize.

re: Which PRovider to Use

The NP can only bill "incident-to" the physician (billing under MD), if the physician has already seen the patient for the diagnosis and he/she (NP) is providing F/U care.
If the MD has not seen the patient bill under NP name and number.

I am new at this. Is there a modifier I need to use when billing "incident to". Thanks!
