Diagnosis coding

In billing for a physician(professional) does the diagnosis code affect payment amount or is that for hopsital coding?

The diagnoses codes do not have payment (dollar amts) for physician coding, BUT, they establish medical necessity (or not) and if not present may deny= no payment for service rendered.
