Is anyone using a secondary diagnosis on Procrit or Aranesp claims when billing for anemia in chronic disease? Thanks!

285.21- Anemia in chronic kidney disease primary and secondary is whatever stage kidney disease they have 585.3, 585.4, 585.5

We also use 285.29- anemia in other chronic illness primary and secondary is 555.9- regional enteritis of unspec site, 556.9- ulcerative colitis unspec, 710.0- systemic lupus erythematosus, 714.0- Rheumatoid Arthritis, and E931.7- antiviral drugs causing adverse effects in therapeutic use

556.0-556.9 ulcerative colitis
710.0 systemic lupus
714.0 rheumatoid arthritis
714.1 feltys disease
714.2 other rheumatoid arthritis w/visceral or systemic
involvement
