CPT® 44143 and 49020

I got paid for 44143 but not 49020. do I need to use a modifier?

It is considered part of code 44143. If a distinct and separate procedure and unrelated to code 44143, use modifier -59 on 49020. But, documentation must support that it as not part of completing the partial colectomy.
