billing for Medicaid disability patients

I am new to billing and am still learning about who pays for what. If you have a patient with Medicare as primary and Medicaid Disability as secondary, is the Medicaid not supposed to pick up and pay their Medicare co-pay? I am in GA if that helps any!

See if your state posts their Medicaid fee schedule on the web. Then, you can compare their reimbursement to Medicare and determine code-by-code whether they will pay anything after Medicare. In Colorado, Medicaid reduced it's fee schedule in several steps between 2009-2011 due to budget constraints, until their "allowable" amounts were less than 80% of Medicare on many codes, therefore no payment and no recourse.
