When the Dr. suspects possible drug use by a patient, would code V71.89 appropriate to use when also performing a Urine Drug Screen?

No, V71 category is for suspected condition, NOT Found. Code the symptoms leading to testing

What would be an appropriate code to use if not V71.89 when the Dr. orders to do a Urine Drug Screen for screening only?

Of course, if suspected condition was not found, category V71 is appropriate

When a parent brings in a dependent for 789.00 and also a urine drug test is performed, what would be the appropriate Icd9 code for the drug test for screening purpose only? Would V71.9 be appropriate?
