modifier 25

Can I use modifier 25 for preventive visit? It was a WWE with other procedure codes 87220 and 87210 done on the same date of service. Preventive visit 99396 was denied and the other two codes were paid. Please help me.

mod 25

I have used mod 25 on a preventive visit when it is billed with a procedure and have not had any problems with it. Just be sure that the notes do justify the use of the 25 modifier.
