OB/GYN Billing

We have 2 OB/GYN's in the same office under the same Tax Identification number. A pregnant patient has insurance for which the pregnancy is paid as a global charge. Dr. 1 see the patient until 37 weeks when the patient comes in as an emergency and Dr. 1 is out. Dr. 2 delivers a stillborn. Do we still charge the global under Dr. 1 or do we charge antepartum under Dr 1 and delivery only under Dr. 2.

Thanks
Lou

Ob/gyn

Usually: Total (Global) obstetrical care: is reported when a physician from a solo practice or the same physician group practice provides the global routine obstetric care, which includes the antepartum care, delivery and postpartum care. Providers are reimbursed a global payment for the total physician services related to the pregnancy from the initial diagnosis of the pregnancy until the end of the postpartum period. The provider or group/same specialty is reimbursed one fee for all physician services regardless of the number of visits or possible complications with the pregnancy.
Again, different payers/different rules.
