Split services within same practice

Does anyone know:

If one physician performs a vascular study (in office) but does not read it and another physician reads the study only, however they are both part of the same practice (and we own the equipment) can they each bill for their portion with the applicable TC or 26 modifiers?

I have to give a definitive and accurate answer to the physician's themselves and have been unable to locate any concrete answers thus far. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The doctors would like to be "reassured" with proof.
