New Medicare patient CDL physical

A new patient with Medicare scheduled a CDL physical at our office. Doctor coded a 99387, but that would mean patient responsibility. (he didn't know) Which CPT® may we use to get decent reimbursement from Medicare? (Welcome to Medicare or annual wellness wouldn't be applicable for this man)

Did you look at 99455 with diagnosis V70.5. This code has restricted coverage from Medicare

re: New Medicare patient CDL physical

CDL physicals should not be billed with preventive medicine codes. These are services that are not covered by insurance companies: they are work related, and should be billed to the patient or employer.

I agree with Nancy's code selection.
