carotid endarterectomy
When the above is performed along with a completion angiogram, would the angiogram be included in the procedure or would you code it separately?

35301 includes establishing both inflow and outflow by any method, placing a patch, shunt if used, and operative arteriogram performed by the surgeon.
The carotid angio can ONLY be billed separately, when performed at the same session as the endart, IF it was truly diagnostic in nature (i.e. determining stenosis) and then your surgeon performs the endart at the same session.

the angiogram is not included in the CPT® code for endarterectomy, so it can be coded also if done imediately after the procedure to demonstrate the postoperative results.
