Billing with 26 and TC modifiers
In a multispecialty group practice where one specialty (primary care) orders a Pulmonary Function Test and another specialty (pulmonology) interprets the test results and writes the report, can the service be billed under the primary care MD who ordered the test and supervised the administration with the TC modifier, and the pulmonologist who writes the report bill with the 26 modifier? The MDs are of different specialties, but are billed under the same tax ID.
