Covering Physician

Our doc has been seeing patients for another doctor while he has been away. All of these patients are in hospital and are under a post operative period so we have not been billing for these visits. Since the doc that has been away is going to be away on a regular basis, we want to know if there is a way we could get reimbursed for all the time this is taking from our own practice. Anyone have any ideas?
