I would like to know that when using a 58 modifier which is stage or related procedure of service by the same physician during the post operative period, could that also be another physician in the same group practice sharing the same tax ID#?

Modifier 58 can be used when a second surgery is performed in the postoperative period of another surgery when the subsequent procedure was: planned or “staged” or more extensive than the original procedure; or for therapy following a surgical procedure; or for the reapplication of the cast within the 90-day global period. I would not use this modifier for the scenario you mentioned.
