Care plan oversight

Hi,

Our doctor is doing care plan oversight and we are billing for a medicare beneficiary.

Can we bill G0180 and G0181 together for the same date.

The only scenario I could think of when you would do this is if you are certifying the patient to establish new medical necessity for home health services at the same DOS you are billing for monthly supervision on a previous certification.

Otherwise, if it were a recertification for additional home health, why not bill G0179?

Technically, for G0181, the service is done over the course of the previous month to get the 30 minutes, so the DOS is not necessarily the date when the entirety of the service was provided.
