I am looking for a dx code that is Medicare compatible for CPT® code 76770. patients symptom is lower back pain

ICD-9-CM code :724.2 ( Lumbago Low back pain Low back syndrome Lumbalgia ) should be the correct answer.
Please correct me if I am wrong .

I do chiropractic billing for Medicare and these are the only ICD-9 codes they will accept for spinal manipulations:

739.1 - nonallopathic lesion of cervical region
723.1 - cervicalgia
739.2 - nonallopathic lesion of thoracic region
724.1 - pain in thoracic spine
739.3 - nonallopathic lesion of lumbar region
724.2 - lumbago/low back pain

I also think 724.2 is your best option.
