Post operative periods and different physicians

We are a dermatology office that specializes in Mohs- we have a Medicaid patient who just had mohs so we are referring him to a plastics surgeon for closure- the pt has another basal cell that needs to be treated- I know that we will need to use a modifier if it is within the global period of the mohs procedure but my question is if the plastic surgeon performs the graft or flap and the patient is seen by our dr after this procedure do we have to use a modifier due to the plastic surgeons 90 global period?? So I guess my question is are we under the 90 global even though we did not perform that procedure? Plus will it cause an issue being the same medical diagnosis?

re: Post operative periods and different physicians

You are only responsible for global period of procedure(s) done by your physician, not another.

If in a global period of your surgeon and you are doing a separate lesion--use modifier 79.

The diagnosis will be the reason for surgery.
