Well Child Visits

Does anyone know if it matters if you use V70.0 for well child visits versus V20.2

I would use V20.2 since Coding Clinic directs you to use this for well child exam.

ICD-9 has a key at the bottom of each page in volume1 which shows a Pediatric patient is ages 0-17. Read the section of codes under V20. This code requires a fourth digit. The forth digit better describes the specific services depending on the age of the child. V20.0 is for a foundling. V20.3 is for a newborn under 8 days old. V20.32 is for age 8-28 days old. V20.2 is for a child over 28 days old.
